How to Apply/Transition

 

We know and recognise that the transition from primary to secondary school is a huge step for any young person and we have taken steps to ensure that each child makes the transition as quickly and happily as possible.

Our popular summer school in August gives new students the chance to explore the building, make new friends and meet their teachers, and is completely free of charge. Our Head of Year 7 is on hand every day for support, guidance and advice to both students and parents.

 

Applying to Bishop Challoner

In addition to completing your Local Authority Application Form you will need to complete our Supplementary Information Form.

You can obtain the Supplementary Form by:

• Downloading it from the bottom of this page
• Asking at Main Reception on weekdays from 8:00 to 15:00
• Telephoning the school on 0207 791 9500

If you are waiting for a Certificate of Catholic Practice you can send the Supplementary Form to the school and forward the Priest’s Reference at a later date. CCP Forms can be collected from your local Parish.

Admission Appeals Timetable 2022 (Year 7 Entry)

Action	Deadline
National Offer Day	1st March 2022
Date by which appeals must be submitted	29th March 2022
Dates appeals are heard	Appeals received by 29th March 2022 will be heard between 9th May and 17th June, exclusive of the week of half term (30th May – 3rd June)
Dates those who have appealed will be sent a notification of their appeal hearing	Between 22nd April 2022 and 23rd May 2022 - this will always be 10 school days in advance of the hearing
Date by which the clerk sends appeal papers to the panel, those appealing and the admission authority	Between 27th April and 2nd June 2022. Papers to those appealing will be sent at least 7 working days in advance of the appeal hearing.
Final deadline to submit additional evidence for appeals	All evidence must be submitted by midday 3 working days before the appeal hearing
Date when decision letters sent to those appealing	Wherever possible decision letters are sent within 5 school days of the appeal decision.

Appeals submitted after 29th March will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being received, whichever date is later.
