Announcement

National Rail and Tube Strike Impact - 21st June to 24th June

Following the announcement of the proposed strikes next week the school had to determine how many staff will be able to travel into work. Unfortunately, this industrial action will severely affect our staff numbers on site and we have had to make the decision to partially close the school on Tuesday 21st June.

On Tuesday 21st June Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 will work from home receiving live streamed lessons or work posted on Satchel One. Years 11, 12 and 13 are to attend school for Public Examinations or Progression Exams.

On Wednesday 22nd June, Thursday 23rd June and Friday 24th June disruption to services will clearly be evident. However, the school will remain open and students are expected to attend as normal.

The situation next week is far from ideal especially for those students undertaking exams. I wish to reassure you that these exams will go ahead and arrangements have been made to ensure they run smoothly and without interruption.

The following information relates to each Year Group.

Year 7

To attend school as normal next week apart from Tuesday 21st June when they will work from home. Their subject teacher will inform them of live streaming classes or work posted on Satchel One to complete.

Year 8

To attend school as normal next week apart from Tuesday 21st June when they will work from home. Their subject teacher will inform them of live streaming classes or work posted on Satchel One to complete.

Year 9

To attend school as normal next week apart from Tuesday 21st June when they will work from home. Their subject teacher will inform them of live streaming classes or work posted on Satchel One to complete.

Year 10

To attend school as normal next week apart from Tuesday 21st June when they will work from home. Their subject teacher will inform them of live streaming classes or work posted on Satchel One to complete.

Year 11

Year 11 Public Examinations will continue as scheduled.

Year 12

Year 12 A Level Progression exams will continue as scheduled.

Students on A Level courses only need to attend if they have an examination. Please allow extra time to complete the journey to school ahead of any examination. Students with an exam in the morning and afternoon are able to remain on site and use the study area to revise.

Year 12 BTEC students will work from home on Tuesday 21st June and their work will be provided on Satchel One. All Year 12 BTEC students are expected to attend their lessons as normal from Wednesday 22nd June, although there will be no requirement for them to attend morning registration throughout the Year 12 examination period. We hope this enables them to arrive at their lessons in good time throughout the strike period.

Year 13

All Year 13 A Level students are currently on study leave and they are now only required to attend school for their examinations. The external Year 13 examinations will continue as scheduled. The examinations scheduled for next week are as follows:

Please ensure that your son/daughter allows additional travelling time for their journey next week. Kindly request that they make a note of the telephone number for Sixth Form reception which is        020 7791 9543. They should contact us immediately if they are experiencing any difficulties.

Year 13 BTEC students have now all been signed off following the completion of their courses.  They are not required to attend lessons unless directed by their teacher.

If the strike is cancelled, we will resume normal service.

Thank you for your understanding and patience whilst we manage a complex and challenging situation.

Yours in Christ
