Fairtrade Bake Sale raises £166
As part of our journey towards becoming a Fairtrade school, we hosted a bake sale on Thursday, 10th March in support of Fairtrade Fortnight. Fairtrade Fortnight brings together thousands of individuals and companies across the UK to raise awareness of and share stories about the people who grow our food and drinks, mine our gold and grow the cotton in our clothes; people who are often underpaid and exploited.
We were overwhelmed by the support of our Year 9 boys and girls who volunteered their time after school to help us bake the delicious cakes and pastries we sold on the day. In addition to this, pupils from across the school baked at home and brought in sweet treats to sell. We are happy to announce that we raised £166! A massive thank you to Ms Adjei and all the staff and pupils who supported us by baking after school or at home or coming
along to buy some cakes and donate to this wonderful cause.
