Bishop Hudson Blesses New Knife Bin
On Wednesday, 9th February, Bishop Nicholas Hudson blessed the new knife bin that was recently installed outside St Mary and St Michaels Church. The event was also attended by John Biggs, Mayor of Tower Hamlets and local religious leaders.
The bin - provided by Word4Weapons and funded by Caritas Westminster - is one of many outside churches in London and provides a way of disposing of knives or other bladed weapons. The bins encourage the disposal of weapons that might otherwise be used so cause injury or death.
Exectutive Headteacher Mr Morrison, Chaplain Deacon Tony and Head Boy Raymond
Twum-Barima were in attendance representing the school. The poster on the railings of the church (pictured above) was designed by Year 10 student Aurora Siupieniute.
