Covid-19 Update and Impact on Teaching and Learning

9th February 2022

Dear Parent/Carer

Covid-19 Update and Impact on Teaching and Learning Part 4

Due to the ongoing high levels of staff absenteeism the school is experiencing at the moment we are still not in a position to provide a normal level of delivery. Therefore, with regret, tomorrow Thursday, 10th February Year 10 will be working from home.

All other Year groups are expected to be in school tomorrow and ALL year groups to be in school on Friday, 11th February for the last day before half-term.

Please note that Bishop Challoner will close for half term on Friday 11th February at 12.30pm.

However, there are exceptions that need to be taken into account. Those students in Year 10 with an Education Health Care Plan or SEND-K families will be contacted by Ms Sagan separately to ensure they attend school as normal tomorrow.

We fully appreciate how difficult the impact of having your child work from home recently affects continuity and consistency. We have tried to provide families with as much notice as we possibly can whilst trying to manage a day to day change of circumstance of staff availability.

Again we apologise to you unreservedly for the inconvenience this will cause. We are doing everything we can to minimise the impact on your child’s learning.  The school will ensure work will be posted on satchel-one for those students working at home.

Your child is a valued member of our school community and hopefully after half-term we will be able to provide a normal service of delivery. All students are expected to return to school on Monday, 21st February.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s Year Leader.

Yours in Christ,

JP Morrison

Acting Executive Headteacher
