Another successful GCSE Results Day at Bishop Challoner Boysâ and Girlsâ Schools
Bishop Challoner Boys’ and Girls’ Schools are pleased to report that despite a challenging and unprecedented year, their Year 11 have received a fantastic set of GCSEs. The school Theatre was full of smiling faces on results day as the students returned to school to receive their results.
52% of all Boys’ GCSE grades were at a grade 5 or above, with 21% of entries at grade 7 or above, meaning that results are the best in recent history in the Boys’ School. English grades had a 9-7 rate of 20% and 9-5 rate of 56%. Maths grades had a 9-7 rate of 24% and a 9-5 rate of 50%.
67% of all Girls’ GCSE grades were at a grade 5 or above, with 35% of entries at grade 7 or above, meaning that results are well above national average for another consecutive year. English grades had a 9-7 rate of 40% and 9-5 rate of 82%. Maths grades had a 9-7 rate of 32% and a 9-5 rate of 65%
Head of the Girls’ school Chantelle Easmon-Johnson is delighted, saying that “Despite the incredible adversity our girls have faced in recent months, results this year are outstanding and testament to their dedicated and mature work ethic.”
Head of Boys’ School Bryan Young is pleased with “a set of great results that demonstrate that our boys managed to successfully navigate such a challenging year. We are delighted to see that this group of students who have been through so much will be going on to the courses they have been hoping for. This reflects the hard work of all of their teachers who through these difficult times have provided so much care and support to all of our young people.”
Both schools wish all of their students the very best and look forward to welcoming the majority of them back to begin Year 12 at Bishop Challoner Sixth Form in September.
