Fairtrade Bake Sale raises £166
As part of our journey towards becoming a Fairtrade school, we hosted a bake sale on Thursday, 10th March in support of Fairtrade Fortnight. Fairtrade Fortnight brings together thousands of individuals and companies across the UK to raise awareness of and share stories about the people who grow our food and drinks, mine our gold and grow the cotton in our clothes; people who are often underpaid and exploited. We were overwhelmed by the support of our Year 9 boys and girls who volunteered their time after school to help us bake the delicious cakes and pastries we sold on the day. In addition to this, pupils from across the school baked at home and brought in sweet treats to sell. We are happy to announce that we raised £166! A massive thank you to Ms Adjei and all the staff and pupils who supported us by baking after school or at home or coming along to buy some cakes and donate to this wonderful cause.

February Sports Roundup
It has been a successful half term for Sport at Bishop Challoner. Our Girls’ football teams have had success in the London Cup, with the Y7 team (above) beating Mossbourne 2-1 on penalties and the Y7 and 8 Team beating St Angelas 4-0. Our Year 7 and 8 athletics teams have enjoyed some much deserved success at the Tower Hamlets Sports Hall Athletics championship, with the Y7 Boys’ and Girls’ and Y8 Girls’ teams winning the competition and qualifying to represent Tower Hamlets at the East London Championships. There was more good news for our Year 7, 8 and 10 Boys’ Teams (above), who also took the gold medal at the Tower Hamlets Indoor Athletics Championships. We are pleased to share that our Year 9 Boys’ football team (below) are Tower Hamlets champions. After a collect prayer in the foyer on Wednesday 2nd February 2022 our boys went to Victoria Park to play against variety of Tower Hamlets schools football teams. After a gruelling 4 hours of football both our A and B team emerged triumphant! Our boys really enjoyed the day of football and success, and especially their gold medals.
