Drive to Act

We are passionate that each student has access to guidance and advice that is tailored to their individual need. We want to ensure no student is left behind and that students that leave our Sixth Form do not become NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training).

We have created our very own Beyond programme to support our students.

Beyond  University

Within the Beyond University element students receive guidance to support them in their exploration of further and higher education. Students are encouraged to be both aspirational and grounded when exploring university options.

The programme includes a wide range of themes including;

  • UCAS support and workshops
  • Literacy support with personal statements
  • Student finance support and assemblies
  • University visits, summer schools and taster days/ weeks
  • Travel bursary for a university visit
  • Ongoing collaboration with Newcastle and Kingston University
  • Dedicated Oxbridge programme of support in conjunction with The Hampton School,  Clare College, Cambridge and Wadham College, Oxford
  • KS4/5 Bi-weekly lecture programme
  • Unifrog platform
  • Weekly IAG E-blast


Beyond Apprenticeships

Within the Beyond Apprenticeship element students receive guidance to support them in their exploration of work related and alternative pathways. Students are encouraged to fully research the merits of apprenticeships and evaluate their own pathways.

Beyond  Work & Employment

Within the Beyond Work & Employment element students are encouraged to develop their employability skills. They receive guidance to support them to become more employable and improve their access into the world of work.

  • Competency & soft skills sessions
  • Cultural capital visits and trips
  • CV & application support
  • Assessment centre support and interview preparation

Beyond  Careers Discovery

Within the Beyond Careers Discovery element students are encouraged to widen their perceptions of the range of carers and routes available to them now and in the future. 

Students are encouraged to attend a range of events or tutorials specifically designed to support their exploration and understanding of different career options. Students are provided with a range of events and opportunities such as insight days and career fairs.

Students are supported to increase their awareness of the following;
